Description
Surgical removal of the foreskin of the penis is referred to as circumcision.

From a medical point of view, circumcision is performed if the opening of the foreskin is too small and the foreskin can not stretch over the glans penis (this condition is referred to as phimosis).
- The procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia.
- Surgery lasts about 30 minutes.
- Healing and recovery takes around 10 days.
- Sexual abstinence is required for 2 weeks.
