Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like translucent substance (glycosaminoglycan) that is injected into the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin in the intercellular space and is known for its ability to retain moisture (hydratation of the skin and remaining volume).
However, its production decreases with age.
Hyaluronic acid is ideal as a filling material (filler) for the area of the lips and deep facial wrinkles (nasolabial wrinkles, marionettes), scars, irregularities on the nose, circles under the eyes.
As the hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, the body can break it down and therefore after about 6 months its effect gradually wears off and the tissue returns to its original shape.
Hyaluronic acid is produced in ready-made injections and the injections are injected directly into the treatment area. Before the procedure, the skin can be numbed using an anesthetic cream.
After the treatment (lasts up to 20 minutes), the patient leaves the ambulance. Minor swelling, redness or soreness may occur, but will disappear within 2 days.
Suitable candidates are women and men who prefer a quick and temporary solution with a minimum of risks.
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be combined with other materials (e.g. botulinum toxin, thread lift) in overall rejuvenation procedures.
