My name is Lucia Machová and I work as a sports and school psychologist.
I work at a Bratislava gymnasium and also in private practice, where I provide individual counseling and work with groups.
I have been working with children and youth for more than 20 years - I started my professional journey as a coach. Today, I combine my experience from the sports environment with psychology and work with young athletes.
In my work, I focus mainly on building a healthy sports environment in which children and young athletes can develop not only their performance, but also their personality, psychological resilience and a healthy relationship with sports.
I work with the topics of athletes' mental attitude, motivation, pressure management, working with pain in the training process and supporting the mental health of children and youth in sports.
I am registered with the Slovak Chamber of Psychologists and the Slovak Association of Sports Psychologists, where I regularly participate in professional conferences with international participation.
I have completed several professional training courses in the areas of relationship bonding and psychological trauma, emotional intelligence of adolescents, working with children with special educational needs, and motivation of coaches and positive leadership.
I am the co-founder of the Školopédia portal, which is dedicated to educating parents, where we popularize psychological topics related to children, adolescence, school and sports.
